Calgon, Take Me Away.....

I just finished taking a bath. I don't mean just any bath. I mean a big girl bath, one without any kiddos. For those of you with kids, you know what I am talking about.

First, I go in and turn on the IPod to Choo Choo Soul. No wait, I said NO kids. I can listen to anything I want. My choice, Michael Jackson Dangerous album. Next, I turn on the water to lukewarm, pour in tearless baby wash and pull out the color dots. Wait, Wait.....tonight it can be scalding hot clear water with the scent of my vanilla cupcake bubble bath. AHHHHH...I get in, slowly of course, don't want to burn myself. I lean back and take in the smell...Yummy! If only for tonight, I get to relax and enjoy the bath. I don't get shot in the forehead with water by any bath toy that can be filled with water. I don't watch as my little boy stands to pee in the bath I am marinating in and then giggle as if he did the funniest thing ever. (Gross I know, but what do you do?) I just lay there and relax enjoying the music and for the first time in a while I feel like a woman. I actually start to get a little groove on while I shave my legs to "Why you want to Trip on Me." (Yes, of course I end up cutting myself. Never dance while shaving.) As I step out of the bath, I actually get to dry completely off before chasing a little wet boy throughout the house trying to get his PJ's on. Tonight, even as I step into my granny panties and nursing bra I feel SEXY! It's nice to have a moment to remember I can smell like something other than spit up.

Bath time being over, I walk into the living room where my husband is with my son and 5mo old daughter, and once again I am mommy. I realize instantly that I can't imagine anything else I would rather be!! But, just for that moment, it was nice to be reminded I am more than that too.
