The Classy Closet

Remember high school? I certainly do! I remember the cliques.. the rich kids, the snotty girls, the band group, the choir groups, the jocks, the druggies (oh yeah, they had their own clique, too), and so on. Anyways, blogging is pretty similar to high school. You have your mom bloggers, your dad bloggers, your Christian bloggers, your craft bloggers, and there’s plenty more. But even more so, blogging can be a little bit like the Mean Girls movie, at least in the mommy blogging community.. each one for herself for a lot of people it seems. Which is sad. We’re grown women aren’t we? Even more so, we’re moms! Are we setting the best example for our children? One day they’ll see the things that we’ve done, they’ll read these blogs that we’ve written and watch the vlogs that we’ve made. They’ll read the comments and read about the people that we were friends with. I believe that reading someone’s blog is like looking into their eyes.. it’s a window to their soul so to speak... Great post. I've learned that wherever there are groups of people, there will be cliques. No surprise that they can be found online as well. I try to avoid the drama as best I can and stick to the people I find to be drama-free! :)

As soon as the internet took off for bloggers, I knew people would take their road rage online. Cars give people a license to rant and rave at other drivers, and a computer gives people an almost anonymous license to be snarky and cruel to just about anyone. Sad...and something that I don't think will ever go away, even if they do see themselves as 'mean girls.' As long as they have followers cheering their antics along, they'll continue...

I love this. I havent really noticed the cliques, not yet at least. But this rang so true with me for the high school part. Not to long ago I graduated, and I can remember clearly just what it was like to be put into a certain clique because of what you did or who you hung out with. Thanks for bring up memories. :) I also love mean girls!!

Great post! I do find a lot of similarities between blogging and high school- there's new ways to gossip with the prevalence of Facebook, blogs, etc.

So much drama, and who really needs high school TWICE in a lifetime?
I actually really liked "Mean Girls", hilarious parody on things that really happen IRL and ONLINE now too, I guess. Sad, really. Why can't we just all get along?

That was a great post. I am new to this whole blogging thing...and I cannot believe how "High School" it actually is. Crazy.
